I started BOINC on my computer this afternoon (OS 10.3.8) and received this error:

I have tried to start a few more times and get the same results. Anyone know what this means and how it can be fixed? Thanks in advance.

You are getting this message because BOINC is trying to connect to a project with a blank url. This is tricky to fix, because it involves editing your client_state.xml file.

I've tried looking through the forum for guidance on this (using the <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_text_search_form.php">keyword search facility</a> on the questions and answers front page, not the site search) but without much success. You could have a look yourself, but try searching in the other project forums as well. You can certainly do it (but make a backup first). I'm reluctant to advise because I'm not a Mac user and am not sure what the correct state of the file will be, though I expect it to be the same as for Windows and Linux.

Thanks for your reply Andrew. I too did a search in the forum but with little success. I took a look at the client_state.xml file and found it to be, well, a little scary. I've posted to the SAH forum and will see what comes up. Thanks again.
