Well, I do believe that is part of the whole pre-alpha thing. They're working on it. From what I did manage to gather, they're using BOINC for the computations necessary to render high-quality, high-resolution MPEG4 computer animations. They had links to a few already completed examples when I last looked. In future they plan to throw the BURP project's network open for any animator who has work needing to be rendered.

Like pirates, work from it is sporadic at the moment. They're just getting it off the ground.

(OH, and I just happen to think the project idea is cool. The fact that they made me user of the day less than 7 hours after I joined has nothing to do with my mentioning it here.)

A network rendering is quite old idea...and is done so for many years.
There is/wsas such project years ago on distributed basis like this one is.

I'm also missing some basic information. I'm not sure if there is clear idea what to render or to who (just to anyone). It may as well be only platform just for fan or platform ready to sell when it's ready.
