Hi Folks - Instead of the current setup that is partialy a hangover from classic CPDN - how about these keys for the various visualisation displays instead:

Clouds - [C]
Rain (or precipitation) - [R]
Temperature - [T]
Pressure - [P]

& filter them all with [2]

Nick...

PS: Darned if I can get 'zoom' to work, hints anybody..? (Multiple [Control] key strikes trigger my KVM switch's control functions.)

yeah I guess we'll need a vis help page, I'm still discovering keys that Tolu put in, it's like an "Easter Egg hunt!" I like "Death Star wireframe" mode myself! :-0

I guess the keys need to be more intuitive since this is the only way to interact
with the viz. i'll make this the defaults in the next release.

I have a similar question. Can these controls be put in the project specific preferences? If you try to use keys on the screensaver it just pops you to your desktop.

I have found that if you show graphics and adjust the settings it will remember until the next time the client is restarted. I would still like to have settings on the web site though so I can change the default behaviour.

I could and it sounds like a neat idea.
But this would require addition I/O and server interaction which i was trying to avoid.
Alternatively or additionally, i'm thinking of adding a .ini file for lang and user prefs. maybe i'll add it to this.

Seti@home is doing this with their screensaver. Preferences are also dumped in account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml file under XML tag.

Just need to do the same and use CP parameters for the screensaver.

I like John's idea to save the graphics configuration and include the defaults in the project prefs. Would be nice. :)

And I had no problems with the graphics control because a nice menu pops up on using my right mouse button with linux viz utility. For my feeling this would be helpfully on MS Windows too.
