Hi

If after finishing the Work units on one of my PC\'s for predictor@home and I detach from the project so I can uninstall BOINC and Install the new version 4. What happens to the Stats for that PC in Predictor.

Are they lost from my score ?
Are they lost to the Team ?

I want to start ClimatePrediction but the other apps SETI and Predictor have not started using the new version and it will be at least the second week in September acording to the Predictor board before they upgrade.

Thanks

If you make sure your 3.22 client has uploaded & reported your units to Predictor, then it shouldn't matter a bit. Those units will be safe & sound under your belt.

If you allow for Predictor to download more units, though, they will be reset & deleted at the moment you start the 4.05 client.

Seti should go to the 4.05 client by tomorrow, though.

Set your cache to 0 - 0 and update the project. This will allow you to process your remaining Predictor WUs without downloading any new work.

You can also just install 4.05 over the top of the old .exe. No need to uninstall.

And Michela over at Predictor has said they will be switching to 4.05 earlier than they had originally planned. :)

You also do not need to detach/attach. Just install over the top, and let the 3.x clients complain in the logs for a bit.

provided you use the same authenticator code on the 4.x BOINC client, you're OK!

BOINC only resets at major version changes and has done this since the 0.xx line. No new info here.
