When my screensaver starts it shows

Phase 1 of 5 / Timestep 0 of 259248

the timestep makes progress but resets to zero every time the screen saver stops and starts again.

however, the CPU time does increase and maintain itself.

The screen saver is of little use, and can waste a lot of cpu cycles.
To see the real info, use the graphics option in BOINC.
