Hello,

I let BOINC run 3 times but climateprediction always finishes the calculation with an calculation error (German: Berechnungsfehler). I connected and sent the results but did get any credits. During a calculation the globe graphic always reads \"Model hasn\'t started\". What is wrong? Why should I waste computer power for bugs after downloading more than 100 MB of data?

Steffen.

The \"bug\" is your computer not finding a library file needed by the program.

quote:
dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/ibmcmp/lib/libxlsmp.A.dylib

If you have downloaded the files as per the message on the download page, then perhaps they are in the wrong place. Or, at least, not where your computer is looking for them.

You won\'t get credits until you process a model for sufficient time for it to reach a trickle point.

How should I know where the correct place is? The Boinc manager installed all the files. This is the error message:

\"Unrecoverable error for result sulphur_j1qx_100888729_0 (<file_xfer_error> <file_name> sulphur ...\" (The rest doesn\'t fit into the window.)

Where should the files be installed?

Steffen

I\'m not a MAC user, so I don\'t have an answer directly. But maybe you\'ll find here some answers.

Dexter
If you look at the \"Result ID\" for each model, (under \"Results\" on your Account page), you can see the reason for each failure.

Thank you. There is a link on that page which leads to an system extension which must be installed on the Macintosh. I mean, climateprediction.net should give a clear hint that we need this extension. Not everybody uses Windows.

Thank you again,
Steffen
