If you go to your account page, (there\'s a link in the blue menu to the left of here), click on \'View\' alongside of \'Computers\', then click on \'Computer ID\', then on the number alongside of \'Results\' at the borrom of the page, you will see what has been happening.

You have received 4 models and crashed all of them immediately.
error 161 is an upload failure, not the crash failure, but you may find something about the real reason for the crash at the bottom of a file called yabsd.out, which is in the dataout folder of each model.
This may now be zipped, I\'m not sure.

I\'m afraid that some computers just aren\'t up to the intense calcs of this project.

Sorry, as a switcher, I\'m new to the iMac and am still finding my way around. I cannot find the model never mind the file you mention. I\'m also a bit puzzled at the oblique answer given about REAL reasons and the comment about some computers not being up to the intense calcs. I would have thought that this machine exceeds the min specs listed.

Two of the problems found in yabsd.out are \'negative pressure\', and \'Wrong no of atmos prognostic fields\'.
There is an example of each in
this thread. If you use Search, and look for negative pressure, you\'ll find a lot more.

Perhaps the Mac version doesn\'t have the yabsd.out file. Or I may have misled you about the location of the file. It is, (perhaps), on your computer, in the climate model folder, in a sub-folder with the name of the model.
You should be able to see the \'error 161\' in your Messages tab in the BOINC gui, (if you use that version), and also on the project\'s web site, in your account, under \'results\'. You\'ll have to check each result to see what happened to it.

And having an above minimum spec computer doesn\'t mean that it will run the climate models. Some just don\'t like it, and often reasons why not can\'t be found.

You now have 41 models listed in your account, only 3 of which are \'still running\'.

There are several posts, e.g. here by Deborah Goldsmith which may be of interest. She did think that she knew what the problem was, but I haven\'t see a post by her for a while.
