I am unable to get the BOINC manager to start automatically at start up. I have tried modifying start menu but this does not seem to work. It seems a shame that a program that is supposed to use spare processor cycles needs to be manually started as I often forget for up to an hour. |

Are you saying if you reinstall BOINC, and check \"Load at Windows Startup\" (or whatever it\'s called), it won\'t place the boincmanager icon in the Startup folder? |

Are you saying if you reinstall BOINC, and check \"Load at Windows Startup\" (or whatever it\'s called), it won\'t place the boincmanager icon in the Startup folder? No I am saying it did not even give me that option and now I am unable to automate start up. I presume there is a work around even if it is a registry tweak. |

Uninstall BOINC (the project files will be left in place) and reinstall selecting to install as a service. If you want to be able to view the graphics you\'ll have to run Start - Settings - Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services. Double click on the BOINC entry, click on the \'Log On\' tab and change \'Log on as\' to \'Local System account\' and \'Allow service to interact with desktop\' to ticked. Click the \'Apply\' button, go back to the \'General\' tab and click the \'Stop\' button followed by the \'Start\' button.
