After 108 hours, the sulphur model I was running had an unrecoverable computation error, which co-incided with the start of my PCs scheduled weekly virus sweep.

Is this co incidence or a possible problem?

I am using Norton security.

Thanks

I\'ts highly likely that it is the cause.

The sulphur app is very sensitive to disruptions, and some VCs, including Norton\'s, lock files before checking them so as not to trigger any possible virus in them.

It should be possible to exclude the entire BOINC folder with one of the options in Norton.

It\'s also highly recommended that people make regular backups of the models.
To do this, use the Exit in the menu to stop BOINC, and then make the backup.

Thanks All.

I have excluded BOINC from the Norton and have completed a sweep without loss of computation.
