Hello,

I was running a model in a BOINC client, but the other day, when I checked how percentage model was running there were nothing in the Tasks Panel! I took a look on the Message Panel and it seemed that the model was over, but the model was about 3,91% last time I checked it, so I understood nothing.

I asked for new tasks and it seemed donwload new tasks, three files specifically, but after that I got in Message Panel red messages which read \"Message from server: No work sent\" \"No work from project\", but teh scheduler request was right.

mo.v \'s told me to go on the discussion in this thread and told me that I\'ve got more than 300 models, I don\'t understand this.

What I have in \"BOINC\\projects\\climateprediction.net\" folder is:

13/10/2006 12:33 <DIR> .

Hi David

Yes, you have lots of unwanted models - something has gone wrong at the server in Oxford.

http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/hosts_user.php?userid=199209

Tolu in Oxford is working on the problem now and has turned off the sending out of new models. Everybody with

*no new model to crunch
*far too many models
*messages saying there\'s no disk space available

needs to follow the advice in blue in my post above.

The server problem is now resolved. If you had problems with no new model, too many new models, or not enough disk space, there are instructions and help here:

This is for members who received multiple phantom models during the server problem period on 12-13 October.

We have not yet found an easy way to clean out the phantom models from your climate prediction results web pages. As the phantoms are only on your web pages and do not occupy disk space on your computer, we suggest that the best idea is to ignore them. Real models downloaded to you after the phantoms will probably appear on the first page of your model results and will be easily accessible. Pre-phantom real model results (pre-12/13 October 2006) will probably be at the bottom of your last results page.

If you really want to eliminate the phantom results, you can restore a model backup. Your computer will then acquire a new ID number without the phantoms. After doing this, do not merge the new computer ID. Note that restoring a backup always entails some risk to the model. So if you do choose this method, it would be advisable to implement it while your model is not far advanced.
