One year is 0.625% (i.e., 100% = 160 years, therefore 1 year is 0.625%).

I\'m not too sure what you mean in the first sentence.
Making a guess:

The model will take several thousand hours to complete, and 0.5% is probably normal at that point in model time.
You\'ll get your first trickle_up at about 0.67%, and credit sometime within 24 hours after that.
Don\'t run the screen saver that came with the program; it can use up to 50% of the processors time just to create the image.
Use the Show graphics button in the Tasks tab occassionally.

You also have to run the model for at least one model year each time, otherwise it won\'t reach a checkpoint, (where the data is saved), and so it\'ll restart next time from the last checkpoint, which may have been hours, realtime, ago.
On the graphics display, there is a countdown timer.
To see it, you need to remove the text overlay, by pressing the Z key.
Then press 8 to see the timer.
When it reaches 0, it\'ll start saving the data. When it\'s returned to 432, (or a bit lower if you\'re late seeing it), it\'s a good time to Suspend, then Exit, before shutting down the computer.

icecaps have all melted.

Don\'t worry too much about what appears to be happening on the graphics. This is not \'real life\', just a \'what if\', based on using certain values for certain parameters to start the model.

Your computer crunches the data at a good speed.
