I just joined climateprediction a few days ago. BOINC was already installed on my computer, so I just added Climateprediction/BBC Climate Experiment (is there a difference? I\'m getting the graphics with the BBC logo but I cannot login to my details page via the BBC website) as a new project. Now I\'m unsure whether this was a good idea. I read that Climateprediction has an own client so you don\'t have to use BOINC. What do you recommend? Should I use BOINC or should I change to another client? I\'m not running any other projects on this computer anymore.

Thank you :),
Martin

Both CPDNboinc & BBC/CCE use boinc but the BBC version is simplified and can\'t be used with other Projects.

This is the best place to be because BBC will fade away when BBC funding goes away. This is also where any new CPDN Projects should be set up.

The BBC logo shows in the graphics for this side of the Project because the Models are identical and it was quicker to install the same graphics package here than to make the tweaks and run more tests.

Accounting for CPDNboinc and BBC are separate because they are treated as separate Projects. Completely different servers. There might be a database merge in the future but it isn\'t in the cards now.

To run CPDNboinc, just attach to http://climateprediction.net and use your existing boinc Password, which is what I presume you did.

Edit: Given that your machine is near the low-end for recommended CPU power, there are some measures you can take to make things run as fast as possible. Some of the \"Sticky\" Threads have good advice and I just made this post on the topic:
