Hello

I am trying to run climateprediction on a new computer (have been using it before since 2006). However, although I have installed BOINC, it is not letting me attach to the project. Instead, when I enter the URL, it gives me the following message:

\"Project not found.
The URL you supplied is not that of a BOINC-based project.
Please check the URL and try again.\"

This has happened with the suggested URL from the Getting Started pages (climateprediction.net) and when I have tried a couple of variants (putting www in front of the address, entering http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/ etc.)

Steven,

That certainly looks to be the right URL, as at BOINC and below.

Did you have the \'http://\' bit as well?

Hello

Yes I did have the \"http\" bit as well.

Interestingly, though, in the screen shot on your post, the BOINC manager lists a variety of projects as well as having the URL box at the bottom, but my Project Selection box is completely blank. Does this have anything to do with it?

Apologies, I have discovered that this was a connection issue relating to the proxy server I have to go through. Please feel free to remove the posts.

Glad to see that you\'re on your way again.

It would be interesting to know whether that list in the project selection is still blank, as it may be fetched from BOINC directly rather than from CPDN. If it is blank then you may need to adjust the proxy further to get BOINC fully working (and to receive the occasional message from BOINC about upgrades etc.).

The list of the projects in the Wizard is in ~/BOINC/all_projects_list.xml
Don\'t know how it\'s retrieved (but I think it\'s downloaded when you download BOINC because that list is in the trac system), but I think that if a user don\'t see that list, his version of Boinc is not the latest (it\'s a new feature introduced 3 months ago, AFAIK)
