On the messages screen I got a message suggesting I upgrade to the latest version of BOINC which I did. Low and behold, it updated the software, gave me a new computer number and loaded two new models. In doing so it deleted the models I was running. What a waste! One was at 28% and the other at 17% Is there anyway I can re-instate the old models from where they were deleted or are they lost for good.

Do you have a recent backup of the entire boinc folder? If not, they\'re history, unless someone else runs them.

Did you happen to have your original Boinc installation somewhere other than c:\\program files\\boinc? (for example, c:\\program files\\climate change experiment, if you joined via the BBC).

If so, your original installation and models are probably intact. Uninstall the new version, and then re-install it to where your original one is.

Thanks Mike. Worked a treat and back on programme.

The hext question is what to do with the two tasks that were created with my alternate persona. At 3% each, I\'m prepared to dump them unless there is a way I could complete them. If I dump them will someone else get assigned them or are they lost completely?

Hi Tim

It\'s OK to abort the 2 models. They will be flagged as being available for re-issue, but with millions of combinations to try out, they may get re-run, and they may not.
If they are in a range of values of particular interest to the researchers, they will most likely be re-run.
