I\'ve been running the BOINC manager for about 188 hours so far. But I\'ve had two of the \"B\" Icons in my task tray. Does anyone know what this means? Thanks.

I get this occasionally - when I mistakenly initiate start the BOINC Manager twice. (Your Double B might have a different cause of course.) I\'ve always closed down the 2nd instance as soon as I\'ve realised, and without ill effect as far as I can tell. Perhaps a moderator or other knowledgeable person would know what goes on when there\'s 2 BOINCs on the same machine running the same model?

BOINC actually consists of two programs: the BOINC manager, which is what you see on screen and has the \"B\" icon, and the boinc \'daemon\' itself, which hides in the background and does the actual work of keeping an eye on the projects\' applications and handling network communication as needed.

So even if you see two \"B\"s, there\'ll only actually be one BOINC \'worker\' in the background, and no harm will be done. If you have the normal \'single user\' installation, there\'ll be one \"B\" in the bottom right corner all the time the program is running: if you chose the \'service\' installation, BOINC can be running but showing no icons at all. If you have any surplus \"B\"s above the 1 or 0 normal for your installation type, you can right-click and \'exit\' the spares.
