Suddenly the el power went out in my area due to some digging in the street. The hadcm was about to upload a zip file but I dont know if it is uploaded. Is it something the program takes care of itself or is it something I should do.
Could someone please check if it is uploaded and tell me what to do
hadcm3iozn_cpu2_2000_80_115899251_0 using hadcm3i version 544
Thanks

The 2070 trickle is there OK, but I don\'t think anyone here can tell whether the Zip file was sent.

If the Zip was sent, then there should be a log in the Messages tab of BOINC Manager; if not, then there should be something waiting to go out in the Transfers tab.

If the Zip was sent before the power outage, there won\'t be any record in the Messages tab - that display is wiped clean at every restart of BOINC.

However, there is a longer-term record of the BOINC messages in the file \"stdoutdae.txt\" in the BOINC directory on your hard disk - look there if you want to check exactly what was going on when the power failed.

On a lighter note, can I suggest that when your birthday comes around you ask for an Uninterruptable Power Supply? Sure, it wouldn\'t handle a major power outage caused by a careless man with a digger, but the outages we get in rural Wales are of 10-15 seconds only, and the expense greatly outweighs the need to re-boot a rack full of computers . . . .

I got a 2200 Wh UPS second hand from eBay for £ 25, although I also needed to get a set of batteries for it. This keeps my PCs going for around 30 minutes in a power cut. APC SmartUPS 2200.

I'm a volunteer and my views are my own.

I looked in the file in the boincfolder and it was OK :-)
Always nice when things work well. Thx for help.
