Your English is quite good. :)

Once a wu has failed and disappeared from the Tasks tab of your display, the only way to get them back is from a backup made BEFORE the problem, and then re-running from there.
There is info on backups in the link in my signature. (Basically, just copy and paste.)

Failed wus are a fact of life in this project, and there are plenty more to work on.

The system used, is that the server at Oxford sends data sets at random to people, from a \'pool\', or collection, of starting values. These are then turned into models by the program on the user\'s computer.

Each data set can be sent a number of times, (often at the same time), to a number of computers requesting work.
Some of these will run for the full duration set out, and some won\'t.

There are 2 ways that a model can fail:
1) Because of a problem with the person\'s computer, or
2) Because that particular set of values leads to instability in the model\'s climate. And so it will fail. (One of the common reasons for failing is that negative pressure is produced in one or more of the many \'cells\' into which to atmosphere is divided.)

So there\'s not much point in sending this same data set back to the same computer. It will just fail again.

This is a bit simplified, but I think that it broadly covers the way that the project is set up.

Hi Lele

This post by Les gives easy instructions about how to make a backup of the contents of the BOINC folder:

http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=4890

It\'s a good idea to make a backup once or twice a week. Twice is better. If your model fails you can restore your last backup and (usually) continue the model.

Congratulations on your English. When I was in Beijing I had great difficulty learning the numbers 1-10.

A ha, I\'m glad to hear that.Thank you.
By the way, where are u come from? It sounds that you had a travel in China. I\'m Chinese. Can u read the numbers, now? ^o^

I have try to read some parts of the posts, from easy to hard, and then hours later I\'m tired. Because of the more reading, the longer sentences.

Give me hours to reading. When I read the posts and understand it\'s info, I\'ll try to find a way cause the operation simply.
It\'s a challenge for me.

I could only visit Beijing and some places near it. Two places I loved were the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace which has the most beautiful gardens.
