I\'m running an AMD Turion TL-60 dual core 64 with Vista Ultimate 64 and 2GB on my laptop and it would be great if i could click on a long running WU like a climate model and \"lock\" it into one of the cores and allow the other core to run all others or atleast not allow other WU\'s to suspend it. Maybe another way to do it is to allow the user to tell boinc that one of the WUs is a high priority so it runs ahead of the others till its finished. I would still be able to click on suspend or snooze if i need most of my laptops power back. Running WUs at 100% 24/7 i\'ve found its best to set it to write to disc anytime i snooze or close Boinc and has saved me afew times when an update has tried to restart my computer and a longer write to disc then the 999 second max would be nice too. I\'m still running bonic 10.5.20 and found it to be the most stable version although i\'m going to try out 5.10.45 soon as my last project finishes tomorrow.

It should be possible to \'set affinity\' but that takes away some flexibility from the OS -- as not being able to farm out some cycles when CPDN does I/O.

Assigning resource shares is easy to do, IF you run a single machine, to make boinc projects run as you want them to, relative to each other. (Good luck if you have two or more machines!)

Almost anything you want to run should have higher priority than boinc/CPDN, so it should not be necessary to put them to sleep.
