From the messages, looks like BOINC is unable to see the internet. Have you had any recent updates to your firewall, or perhaps proxy server? Are you able to otherwise access the internet with a web browser?

You joined on the 12th of May, and already you\'ve completed a 6000 hour model? Which doesn\'t show on your records?
And there aren\'t any \'along the way\' credits against your name, either.

Have you accidently created a second account?

If you continue with this new account, then you\'ll also lose all of your previous credit, along with the models. Which belong to a different \"person\".

You\'re not restricted to using name/password. There\'s also name/AccountID.
The ID is in the file: account_climateprediction.net.xml, which is in the BOINC folder. It\'s the line called authenticator

Burkhard, I think that although you\'re not a credit chaser it would still be a good idea if you sorted out the identity thing. Your computer\'s attached to your original CPDN account, not this second account you\'re posting from.

I can see this because if I click on your name here, then on Computers - View, I should be able to see at least one computer. But there\'s no computer. This means that if ever you need advice about your models, nobody here on the forum will be able to get to their web pages to see how they\'re behaving and offer advice.

You won\'t be able to merge your old and new accounts because BOINC identifies accounts by email addresses and refuses to allow the same email address to be used again.

So you need to get back into your original account. You can\'t remember your password, but you can also log in to it using your authenticator number.

To get at your authenticator number you need to

* Open BOINC manager, then in the Tasks tab highlight your model and click Suspend. Exit from BOINC manager using File > Exit. The BOINC icon bottom right of screen will disappear. This step is necessary because we mustn\'t go into the BOINC folder while BOINC is running.

* Navigate to your BOINC folder. It\'s usually in My Computer\\C\\Program files\\BOINC.

* Double-click on the BOINC folder to open it up.

* At the top there\'ll be 3 folders called locales, projects and slots. Just underneath them you\'ll see a file called account_climateprediction.net. Double-click on it to open it.

* Probably on the second line you\'ll see <authenticator> then very long number </authen.......

* You need to copy this long number so you can paste it in when you log in to your original account.

* Close all those windows.

* Start BOINC up again. Start > Programs > BOINC. Click on it. The icon will reappear. Double-click on the icon to open BOINC manager, then in the Tasks tab highlight your model and click Resume.

Once you\'re logged in to the original account, you\'ll have the option of going in to it (menu on the left of this page > Taking part in CPDN > Your account) and changing your password to something you\'ll remember.

This may seem like a hassle now, but once you\'ve sorted this out it will be done for ever. (You don\'t have to do it today. There\'s no rush.)

If you ever attach to any other projects, use the same email address as for your original CPDN account. That way, all your project accounts will line up.

Please post back to tell us if that works.
