Screen saver alternates between temp, precipitation and pressure...

I have always wondered why the screen saver does not have an option to allow it to alternate between temp, precipitation and pressure... Being stuck with just temperature or pressure or precipitation makes the screen saver too boring. Random or Fixed switching, I don\'t care. Unit interval: Every 12 hours is fine, as the context switching costs CPU time. |

Press your tab key repeatedly to cycle through the views. Tolu has recently added V for vorticity to the views available for some model types. This novel view may help to relieve the tedium. Cpdn news |

I could not cycle through the views using the tab key or the ctrl key. Every time I hit one of those it takes me out of the screensaver mode. Any ideas? |

Hi, welcome to the forum. My apologies. What I said in my previous post about using the tab key only applies to the model graphics that can be opened by clicking the button in BOINC Manager. As far as the screensaver is concerned, it\'s designed only to activate itself when the computer\'s completely idle, so the moment you do anything at all it disactivates itself. Most of us disactivate the BOINC/CPDN screensaver anyway because, being dynamic rather than static, it uses processing cycles and slows down the crunching. When you want to see what the model\'s doing it\'s best to use that Show Graphics button. Press Z then 8 on the keyboard if you need to make the overlay disappear. H brings up the menu of options. If you do decide to use the screensaver you can select what view it shows by editing the climateprediction.net preferences section of your account. Get to your account by selecting Taking part in CPDN in the menu on the left of this page. Then select Your account. Cpdn news |

Boinc Version 6.6.20. HADCM 160 year running. "Vorticity" seems to be default "View Graphics" How to reset default to "Clouds"? |

HADCM 160 year running. Afraid it's not possible at the moment because there's an incompatibility in the way the "Scene" graphics preference is handled by the different model types (see here).
