Running winXP home, boinc 4.07 Ath 3200+ with 512Mb. The client keeps stopping. Seems to run for 1-2 Hrs then just stops. Need to exit Boinc then restart, all OK for a couple of hours again. Frustrating. Problem happens with sah and cpdn running (pah also but no work there) |

Are you on dial up? The current BOINC release has the annoying "feature" of stopping everyting if it wants to talk to the servers and you aren't online. (dev team doesn't give much thought to dial up users...) To see if this is your problem, select "Disable BOINC network access" from the file menu. This will keep BOINC from trying to connect until you turn it back on again. (note that this function is reset if you exit and restart the client, and you will need to disable again) If all is good with network access off, then you will either need to stay connected constantly, or leave network access off, and regularly turn it back on when you are connected so WUs can be uploaded/reported. :( |
