I have both SM3 and AM3P selected and according to Server status page there is plenty of WUs. What\'s the problem?

I ran into the same problem yesterday. I suspended network activity so that it would stop trying every minute and let it sit for 2 hours. When I reenabled network activity 2 AM3P’s downloaded.

I also had the same problem yesterday. Eventually it downloaded some new ones, but a couple cores were resting for a few hours before that happened.

You might try increasing the lead time in the “maintain enough work for an additional…” in the preferences. Mine is set for the max of 10 days. That way I always have a couple of WU’s “waiting to start”. If there is a server problem my cores are never idle.

I get these messages for some days. I have checked "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?". I have tried resetting, pausing it, stopping it asking for new work for almost a day .. Strangely, it is asking for work for GPU and not CPU. I have a GPU project running, but that should not interfere ..

Any ideas why this is happening?

Asking for GPU work is how BOINC finds out if there is any application for GPUs.
The requests taper off, so it should soon only ask once per day.

The problem is I dont get any work. I should have clarified this. So it seems that BOINC doesnt ask for CPU work?

As CPDN has no GPU work the automatic GPU requests never succeed, but they do no harm. They should not prevent your computer getting CPU work.

* In Boinc manager Advanced (at the top) click on Preferences in the menu. In the Network usage tab look at the additional work buffer. You can increase the buffer manually to a maximum of 10 days. Click OK which will activate your preferences for this computer only.

* In your Boinc manager Projects tab check that it says Allow new work for CPDN.

* If you have any CPDN tasks suspended it will be impossible to get new work (for CPDN).

* But you may be able to get new work by temporarily suspending tasks from other projects.

Hope that helps.

I found the error: It seemes to be a problem of translation, because I use a german Windows so some parts of the website are in german: under "climateprediction.net-preferences(?)", the second option is in german, and it would translate to: "suspend work on GPU when computer is in use". I checked "no" before, now that I checked "yes", I got new work.
Please look into this issue, afaik this option appeared in the last week or so.

Thank you for reporting this.

The CPDN Boinc server version was upgraded last week. It includes this forum and all our account and task web pages. Since the upgrade a few things have not been functioning correctly as before. We have to report these things to Milo who's a CPDN programmer. I will report what you say.

I don't think this is a translation problem. It's probably a problem with the code in every language.

Edit: I've now reported your problem here.
