The temp. in the New York City area in the USA yesterday hit 103.5 degrees F. (39 degrees C) That is the hottest day in the last 8 years. The temp is expected to top 100 again today. The really frightening thing is that it is predicted that in a CO2 warmed world this will be common.

Presently, the New York area only hits 100 about once or twice a decade. According to a report issued about 2 years ago, by 2050 the New York area could be seeing about 5 days each year when the temp breaks 100.

We got a storm to cool things off in Connecticut today, here are some pictures of it.

My garden survived.

Some of the corn may not but other things did good.

Very impressive storm Ray! I bet it cooled things off!

Here it's 93°F

Feels like: 101°F with the Humidity sitting at 52%, but if I had any money, I'd bet it was higher.

The day after those pictures were taken the weather service was here to inspect the damage and said that a tornado hit about a K away from where I took those pictures. They had a lot more damage where it made a direct hit but I did not go there to take pictures. It took two days to get some roads open again.

That was the 2nd one to hit the state this year. Most years we do not have any so this must be a record for us. The first one this year hit in Bridgeport, CT.

January to July was the warmest half year on record for Connecticut and we just finished the hottest July on record.

I am really getting to hate global warning. The long range forcast is for summer weather up to November this year, that is way to late into the fall for it. Is anyone ready for another ICE AGE?
