Hi Am running a HADSM3 model which isn't due to complete til next year (I've set its resource share to approx. 40% and I've throttled it locally by 33% with BES to save the lappy CPU). So just wondering is it still worth running HADSM3 (are the trickle results still useful?) or abort and run the FAMOUS model? I realise my laptop is old and slow (by modern standards!) but everything counts, right?! Thanks |

Completion date for all types of model is asap. The 1 year "deadline" is to fool BOINC into not causing problems when long climate models are mixed with short WUs from other projects. (The deadline for the Millennium models is 3 months, because they are part of an international research effort, and are needed quickly.) As for cutoff date for returning all data for a model, there isn't one. So please continue with the one you have. The data WILL be added to the collection. Although if you take longer than a year to do this, you'll start to get regular 'nag' messages in the messages tab. Which can be ignored. PS Newer models being planned may require computers with SSE2 capability. Backups: Here |

Thanks for the reply Les - glad to know the trickles are still useful and also glad to know that the PentiumM should be able to handle the SSE2 instructions! Cheers |
