Hello, friends!
It is a strange and never seen before situation - at the same time 3 of my hosts are connecting to server successful, but another hosts can not reach it since 20 July: "Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server". The same situation was yesterday and (it is possible) 1 day before yesterday...

Yes, some are blocked, because they still have the old server address cached.
Restart BOINC to fix.

The latest post in the News and Announcements thread covers this. :)

PS
The 2nd last post has a link to the other (php) board that explains what happened to climateapps2.

This situation is/was absolutely outside of my intuition - the last news, fixed in my head, say "the server is moved to another room"... Moved... and what? :-)
Thank You, Les!

The "room" is in a different building in the City of Oxford, half a mile from where it was.
And the point of moving it was to get it to a department where cpdn staff are allowed to go.
The old and the new departments have different urls within the university of Oxford.

The old is oucs, Oxford University Computing services.
The new is oerc, Oxford e-Research Centre.

I have problems again.
This host is "blocked" since 18 September.
What can be wrong this time?
25/09/2011 16:34:35|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
25/09/2011 16:39:40||Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
25/09/2011 16:39:42|climateprediction.net|Scheduler request failed: Timeout was reached
25/09/2011 16:39:46||Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

Funny details. All another hosts are Ok! THIS message is created exactly on this "blocked" host.

Some are blocked because they crash all their tasks. Your problem looks like a casualty of the recent server move. All that is required is a simple tweak to climate_state file. See the last part of this post:

(More than half of my machines failed the 'automatic' transfer from .oucs. to .oerc.)
