My profile now shows a jump in the number of work units done from around 427,000 to 7,599,025. I was not running any work units (at this time) and simply requested an update on the number of work units done. Only one computer is participating in the project.

'Tis probably related to the credit script going berserk. I'll pass your message to the staff.

Edit: By the way, welcome to the Boards.

Only 7 million? Mine has shot up to over 2 billion! The Certificate of Computation looks nice . . .

Will need to look up what a quintillion is. 91.something on my certificate.

Edit:Is that a British quadrillion or an American one?

Dave: a British quadrillion is 40 furlongs...a US quadrillion is 12 Troy ounces...

Very strange, looking at Statistics tab on BOINC Manager. Total work has gone up by a factor of just over 20 and yet user average has dropped. [/img]

:)
I like that Frank.

My certificate says that I've done 5.93 sextillion floating-point operations.

Ah, numbers.

Unfortunately, everyone will soon be going on a compulsory weight loss program to get rid of the bloat.

A first for me, I checked the certificate link. Good for a laugh! (I can take that certificate to Starbucks and get a Latte -- if accompanied by a US-five-dollar bill...)

Hmmm, I had to settle for a mere 40 million... A well, you can't win them all!

This must be a bug or something. My credit just rocketed from 20,000 to 280,000 while my average credit went from somewhere in the thousands to 400. If this is just from my tasks, it sure took long enough to validate, and they are giving WAY too much credit for each task.

Indeed it is and the admins have been notified. See the discussion in the "Credit updates?" thread starting here.

This time I got 5.6 billion credits. That will teach those Bitcoin crunchers a lesson of humility! Sadly it won't last though...

I'm not sure which of the threads is supposed to be the official one regarding the big credit issues, so I post here.

Apparently those error credit were removed now.

However I can there were MORE credits removed than the one given by mistake :

(my credits)
5 days ago : + 20 049 334 225

Today : -20 049 389 177

54952 credits are missing, I was punished because of CPDN error ? why this ?

edit : my source is http://statseb.boinc-af.org/synthese_membre.py?cpid=0f427369fc065729f2235f772e83f26f

On boincstats I see I have 763987, that is 709036 (statseb total creedit) + 54951 (the delta), so maybe the difference is only due to this site reading of the exported stat ? I told them.

Message 50044 - Posted: 6 Sep 2014, 21:51:56 UTC - in response to Message 50043.

There has been two credits problems.
The second one hasn't been fixed yet.
No stats have been exported yet to external sites, so all of those are out of date.

Hopefully it will get fixed next week.

Nepotism is definitely at work here. All the moderators have trillions of credits whilst I have a mere 76 billion.

Quite fun really.
