I run Slackware Linux on all of my computers. The only computer that is able to do CPDN work units is a 32 bit (very old) computer. Tried to get a work unit on an x86_64 machine and was informed you do not have a Linux version. Will that change?

Unlikely. (If memory serves, there were posts to that effect but a one-year search didn't find any.)

I also remember posts to that effect and that reasons were given but I can't remember what they were right now. It would be nice not to have to go hunting for all the 32 bit libraries every time I update. (actually now I have them I will when I have finished typing, copy them to a usb stick so I can copy them into /usr/lib32 next time I have to install from scratch.

A few years ago, someone from the Met Office said (to some professional climatologists), that there would only be 32 bit versions of their programs.
So, as astro said, it's unlikely that they'd provide any to us amateurs.

However, I suspect that you've asked the wrong question.
More likely, you've tried to attach with a computer without 32 bit libraries, and been told that there's no application for that type of computer.
The cure is to install the 32 bit stuff, as per the thread at the top of the Linux section of this board, here.

And you may need to follow some of the links in that thread for extra info.
