I enjoy the screen saver you have with the earth and showing the temp. I wonder why you have it showing just Africa and some of South America..Is this the general area that you are recording your research..If not..it would be nice to see the earth rotate, to show all areas of the world. Also..it just seems to show temp..no precip..etc..Maybe I don\'t understand what the screensaver is showing..if this is actual data being used..it would be nice to have an explanation of what is going on with this particular setup...Just interested and don\'t really understand what I am really seeing or should be seeing. Thank you..Wayne Palmer

Hi there,

j hit H for help under vis or play on keyboard to make world rotating and showing other than temp maps. A mouse for rotating and holding Control for zooming do also pretty good.
Tip: hit '0' for hidding stats.

Hope it helps...

Typically, in screen saver mode, anytime you hit a key it pops off the screensaver. To see the rest of the world or make it rotate, you have to set this up when "viewing graphics". Open the boinc client, under the work tab you will see the work unit list, right click it to "show graphics". From there, you can fiddle with the display to make it rotate, see precip, etc. You can make the earth rotate by giving it a little spin with the mouse. When it pops back up as a screen saver, it usually will be showing whatever you had showing last before in graphics mode. If you hit H, a help screen pops up for all the controls. Basically what Honza said, except you have to do all that in graphics mode, not screensaver mode. (Unless you have your screensaver set to stay on unless you hit a certain key if that's possible??)

There is a good explanation of what you are looking at elsewhere on the website which I found interesting to read.
