I don't know whether this is the right place to post this message. Frankly, I find my entire experience trying to help climateprediction.net pretty frustrating. I strongly support the idea of using distributed computers to predict climate change, but my attempts to search your forums for others who have solved problems similar to mine turn up only complaints of a shortage of data to work with. That's not what I'm after. So: I'm running Boinc on a Macbook pro that also runs parallels. The seti screensaver runs in both the Mac and Windows 10 sides. Climateprediction just sits there. I tried reloading the data, and got this: Sat Jan 23 10:58:49 2016 | climateprediction.net | update requested by user Sat Jan 23 10:58:50 2016 | climateprediction.net | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. The reason you cant get Boinc to get work from CP is that there is no work available at this time. The best thing to do is to find another project to run as a fill in until more CP work is released. By the way, this is to wrong place for this kind of post. This area is for posts about climate science. In future please use the number crunching section for queries about tech problems. |

Amazing. I'll just delete the project. I do suggest some kind of notice telling others not to waste their time either. Thanks. |

Hi Chris, glad you are looking into volunteering your computer! Due to various factors, work for this project is intermittent. But once work is sent out, it will keep your computer busy for quite some time. As you can see here: http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/server_status.html there are over 80 000 task, being run right now, by volunteers like us. As Jim suggested, I would recommend attaching boinc to an additional project, you will then get work from climateprediction when it becomes available. My personal recommendation for the additional project would be https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org, as they have some really worthwhile projects while keeping a steady supply of workunits. |

Moved from the Science section. As Maxwell Smart would have said: "Just missed new work by that much." |
