As I've never - N.E.V.E.R - get a task in years, even if my specifications should match the minimum requirements, I would like to know how to definitely delete my account.
It seems that it's not explained any where.

Thanks in advance!

I can't remember what the answer was the last time this was asked about. I am also, curious as to why you have had no tasks since signing up in 1013. Have you checked your account settings to make sure that allow other types of work if no work for selected applications is ticked? I know that some in Italy have had problems due to their ISP being blacklisted due to some dodgy stuff coming from the domain but didn't think that stopped tasks being sent?

ps.

I am a bit surprised you haven't posted an attempt to find out why you haven't had any work.

Accounts cannot be deleted. The reason for this is that the interpretation of the results may in some obvious way (e.g. operating system) or subtle way (e.g. spoofing user) depend on the account details, so they have to remain available for as long as the model results remain of interest.

Though this user has never crunched or even downloaded any models.

Work on this project is not continuous. It comes in batches, with gaps between them, when the researchers are waiting for results to analyse.
The only way to get work is to be continually attached and waiting.
And DON'T keep clicking the Update button! Each time the server is contacted, it resets a count down timer back to one hour before any work can be asked for by your computer.

Then there are 2 settings in your Manager that can prevent you from getting work.
1)
In the Projects tab, the right hand column will either be blank, meaning that BOINC is allowed to ask for work, or it will say No new tasks.
This is controlled by a button to the left. It's a toggle, which will either say Allow new tasks, or No new tasks.

2)
In the menu under Activity, there's 3 options for network connection:
The bottom one stops BOINC from talking to the servers, and the 3rd from the bottom allows it to talk to the servers. This Network activity always is the one you need to have ticked to get work.

Finally, there's been somewhere around 20,000 tasks available over the past couple of weeks, all gone at the end of last week.
But there's a rumour that another big batch will show up soon.

Les Bayliss, thanks for your answer.
1) New tasks are allowed, as default
2) Network preferences are set by default as general preferences, and this always worked for other projects. I'll set in "always" anyway. I'll give a try. Thanks

I see you have one task at the moment on one of the two computers listed. Not sure if they are actually the same machine or not - they both have identical OS AND CPU specs.

The server status page shows over 50K of tasks in the hopper at the moment which will take a few days to go down as most people by now will have tasks.

It's the same PC, just being named in 2 different ways - due to OS upgrading.
I have one task, 3d22:04 to complete, deadline: 05/03/2017.

Hope it will go fine.

CPDN deadlines are not suggestive. They are set 'way out there' to keep CPDN from grabbing a machine near a short deadline at the expense of other projects. That said, scientists behind the several CPDN projects would still be grateful for results as soon as possible.

Good luck.
