(Message 25618)
Posted 1152 days ago by [B^S] Zain Upton
As far as I can tell... the update I have just run at BOINC Synergy calculates that the total work done across ALL projects (including Alpha Beta stage projects) just passed
20,000,000,000 Total credits!
A good day for BOINC.

Congratulations CPDN ... 100,001 host(s)
(Message 16381)
Posted 1591 days ago by [B^S] Zain Upton
Looks like CPDN tipped over the 100K hosts that have connected and returned work at some stage to CPDN BOINC.
Quite an amazing achievement...
While this little graph doesnt show hosts... it does show the amazing rise and rise of CPDN

Loosing total credits as users leave?

Its actually quite interesting if you compare the projects.
I agree... on CPDN one member leaves the credits they have added WHILST in the team DO leave and go to the new team.
On the other hand... in SETI (and some of the other BOINC projects) if a member leaves, their credits DO NOT leave with them (but the new credits will be added to the new team ... old credits stay... of course individual total is unaffected)
This makes me wonder if it is not a setting/option that is given to BOINC admin of individual projects. If so I would be very interested as to why CPDN has set it to "credits follow" rather than "credits stay"...
Interesting...

Totally lost
(Message 9893)

4.24 (now out) like 4.23 are "DEVELOPMENTAL".
People that use these versions are effectively Beta-testing "relatively" stable releases. Problems like these digital signatures come up... and will be addressed but not always overnight.
Simple thing is if you DONT want the hassle keep using your stable platform UNTIL on news boards a OFFICIAL release is made (non developmental).

URL change for BOINC World Stats from "BOINC Synergy" (formerly SETI Synergy)
(Message 9556)
Posted 1816 days ago by [B^S] Zain Upton
Hello all,
Just a note to say 2 things.
1. (The one most of you will most care about)... the statistics site <b>"BOINC Stats for the WORLD"</b> has changed its url to <a href='http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/index.php'>http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/index.php</a>.
The good news is all old pages which have www.setisynergy.com/stats/blah.php will still work... <b><i>so you DONT HAVE TO change your bookmarks if you dont want to.</i></b>
2. The BOINC teams "SETI Synergy" will now be known as <a href='http://www.boincsynergy.com'><b>"BOINC Synergy"</b></a>. This name change has not been something we as a team have rushed into... in fact I have been mulling over it for over 3 months now.
While our members still crunch hard for SETI@Home our team has embraced the BOINC projects... and now TRULY emcompasses ALL BOINC projects. 90% of our members run 2 or more BOINC projects. SETI Synergy did reflect our long history... but didnt reflect our dedication to ALL BOINC projects and the future.
My feelings were we had to keep the word SYNERGY. This word to me really reflects our team, the members from all around the world, the dedication, the spirit. BOINC Synergy is so simple... and while it doesnt SLIDE off the tongue like Seti Synergy... I think its a GREAT name, and when people see then name they will make the very quick connection with our old name.
Anyway... rambling as usual.
Just though some of you may want to know about the URL changes.
Cheers,
Zain

One thing for sure... after this press release, and the controversies it is causing around the world in the political scene... CPDN has had a SURGE of members.
Here is one of the graphs from my stats site... displays it beautifully...

More people crunching, more results, and in time more press and evidence. All good things.

Oops. Sorry about the duplicates (small bug... now fixed)
Also had an issue that meant the CPU page was showing blank. Now fixed that also (teaches me to code on a sunny saturday afternoon with a few beverages)

More things added to the <a href="http://www.setisynergy.com">BOINC Stats for the World</a> pages
For each project you can how have a breakdown by CPU type and Operating system.
CPDN ones are found here...
